Job Summary The Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting.
The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency.
Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.
In the role of Safety Coordinator, you will serve as a primary resource and information consultant regarding patient property issues.
In addition, you will help maintain the safety and operations of AMRTC by supporting security processes, assisting with emergency responses, and delivering essential training to employees.
Job Duties:
Process patient property upon intake and discharge, including documenting the inventory of all items, securing any contraband, and maintaining accurate records.
Complete facility and unit security environmental risk assessments.
Coordinate and assist with unit searches.
Deliver training for new employees and annual staff refreshers regarding the Incident Command System (ICS) and Effective and Safe Engagement (EASE).
Conduct facility-wide drills under the direction of the Safety Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries or create and apply the basics of spreadsheets and supply/retrieve information in databases.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Basic computer skills sufficient to use e-mail, maintain electronic records and complete reports.
English language skills sufficient to communicate effectively with coworkers, patients and the general public.
Customer service skills sufficient to provide courteous, professional assistance in person, in writing and on the phone.
Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of work experience demonstrating knowledge of relevant security policies and procedures.
Understanding of hospital safety and security functions.
Accuracy and attention to detail, organization and ability to meet deadlines.
