Project Manager - Research and Development/New Products
Overview:
Career Transitions, LLC is currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to join it client's project management team. Our client is a leader in research & development in the med device arena with a demonstrated history of growth and technological achievement, providing the highest levels of quality and service in the products it manufactures and distributes.
Summary:
Reporting to the VP of R&D, the Project Manager is responsible for analysis and business solution definition, technical recommendations, testing, and project execution in support of the organization's initiatives and strategies. Will be responsible for new technical projects in R&D. Directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects and project teams to ensure that goals or objectives of the projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through project teams.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
Establishes work plan, work breakdown structure, and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Ensures requirements, functionality and resource allocations meet project deliverables based on the nature and scope of the project.
Identifies and manages overall project dependencies and ensure project deliverables stay on-time, on-target and on-budget.
Performs other duties as required or requested.
Qualifications:
Candidate should have a background in engineering, natural or material science, or business with a technical background in research. Should have 5-7 years of progressive project management experience with demonstrated results. Specifically, background in injection molding, casting or resins, hard coating, or material science highly preferred but not required. More importantly, should have the ability to wear many hats! Experience with project management software and MS Office software important.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
