Job Summary: The Logistics Manager provides direction and leadership for day-to-day and long-term strategic Logistics activities and manages transportation across all Sign-Zone, Inc including small parcel, inbound (LTL, FTL), outbound (LTL, FTL), between facilities, and import transportation of air and ocean movement.

Implement Logistic strategies and actions that support Sign-Zone's strategic initiatives
Assure attainment of business objectives and shipment schedules while insuring delivery standards that will exceed our customer's expectations
Develop key performance indicators/metrics for Sign-Zone as it relates to overall transportation effectiveness
Effectively negotiate domestic and international freight rates
Effectively manage and optimize transportation spend and ensure business objectives are obtained by all transportation providers.
Provide analytical support, technical information and recommendations to all corporate departments as they relate to managing international and domestic freight requirements
Responsible for all transportation costs - direct carrier costs as well as operating budgets for transportation department
Assist customs compliance with customs-related issues
Research and implement appropriate leading edge Logistic methodologies, practices, and technologies
Establish appropriate contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, brokers, etc., as needed to fulfill the transportation and logistics needs of Sign-Zone
Establish internal and external best practices for all inbound and outbound transportation of materials
Encourage and facilitate the incorporation of Lean objectives and processes in all Logistics Department
All other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Skills/Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain, operations, or related field of study.
Minimum five to seven years of management experience in supply chain/logistics, demand planning, transportation and/or ERP experience.
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Solid project management experience
A proven track record in logistics, national and international.
High energy level required
Strong sense of urgency
Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, proven organizational and planning abilities as well as outstanding problem solving skills
Previous experience in managing a staff
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
